Limpopo Traffic authorities say protesters have blocked the main street leading to town from Ladana to Polokwane.

Protesters from Ga-Rena government accommodation facility are accusing the Polokwane municipality of failure to service the facility properly.

They have barricaded the street with burning tyres and other objects.

The protest comes after some of them had their electricity disconnected due to failure to pay for water and rental fees.

The facility was meant for low income earners.

Police are monitoring the protest.
